MY REVIEWS: WUTHERING HEIGHTS BY EMILY BRONTË; MY THOUGHTS AND HIGHLIGHTS

Hey Readers
Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

I bid my junior brother to get me water with my favorite yellow mug bearing the inscription "Love never Checkmate" midway reading the novel Wuthering Heights. I drank of the water from my mug in an attempt to replenish my lost body fluid from tears that drop from my eyes as the tragedies and the consequence of the love story unfolds while I read. Wuthering Heights is a chaotic novel, beautiful in its complexity but terrible in its wickedness and also a mind weakling write by Emily Brontë, it explores the extent of love and lust, Jealousy and the impeccable length the ordinary human can go to seek revenge against his fellow being out of lust of Love. The brute nature employed by the main character in seeking his revenge not only makes one melancholic but fill one with pity for his victims.

WUTHERING HEIGHTS tells of the tale of a young orphan called Heathcliff. Mr Earnshaw a Yorkshire farmer and owner of wuthering heights brought Healtcliff the orplan home from his travels to Liverpool to live and be raised with his children Hindley and Catherine Earnshaw. Mr Earnshaw love for Heathcliff grew more and more. Hindley Earnshaw out of jealousy become to hate and detest Heathcliff, however Catherine Earnshaw who has become more found of Heathcliff loving him beyond bound. After the death of Mr and Mrs Earnshaw, Hindley Earnshaw maltreated Heathcliff does what he can to destroy Heathcliff. On one of heathcliff and Catherine playful adventures to the Moors, they encounter the Edgar and Isabella Linton. Edgar and Isabella Linton live at Thrushcross Grange. The Lintons welcome Catherine into their home but shunning Heathcliff. Catherine become found of her new friends and becoming increasingly to like Edgar Linton more over Heathcliff.  Catherine, at first, splits her time between Heathcliff and Edgar, but soon she spends more time with Edgar, which makes Heathcliff jealous. When Heathcliff overhears Catherine tell Nelly-Dean their housekeeper that she can never marry Heathcliff. Heathcliff hearing this leaves Wuthering Heights and gone for three years.
While he was gone, Catherine continues to court and ends up marrying Edgar. The happiness of their relationship was short-lived when Heathcliff returns after 3years with mysterious wealth. Heathcliff and Catherine had never seemed to have forgotten the love between them. Heathcliff went on to live at wuthering heights with the intentions of revenge on Hindley and his son, Hareton).  Heathcliff vows revenge and does not care who he hurts while executing it. He desires to gain control of Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange and to destroy everything Edgar Linton and his daughter and all that he holds dear.

Astonishing novel by Emily Brontë, Wuthering heights is an interesting read and if one be not strong enough, it would reap ones heart into piece as one who has just had his/her Heart broken by his/her lover.

My Thoughts and Highlights From The Novel
Here are some of my thoughts and I highlighted some stuff amidst my read which I will like to share with you

My Thoughts
1. The Novel talks about Hindley Earnshaw jealousy and maltreatment towards Heathcliff because his father affection for the orphan boy became more than he had for him. Thus resulting in Catherine Disapproval to think of Heathcliff as a future lover and companion. In the end game Heathcliff resulting to seek revenge for his maltreatment and not been able to have Catherine Earnshaw.

• In life we must be careful and try at all means not to meddle in love or relationship affairs of our friends, relatives and loved ones because sometimes in the process of we may stir up unwanted grievances and malice.

• We should be careful of who we fight and hurt in life process because some people may seek revenge at us at all cost not caring who gets hurts or not. Not everybody has the spirit of forgiveness; Coz, "Forgiveness is a gift and not all are gifted"

My Highlights:
Wuthering is a difficult read because of its old English, but I tried to high some text out.

Highlight One: “Honest people dont hide their deeds"

Highlight Two: “Treachery and violence are spears pointed at both ends; they wound those who resort to them worse than their enemies.

Highlight Three: "By all means sseek peace of thy offender over Revenge".

Highlights Three: Well, we MUST be for ourselves  in  the  long  run; the  mild  and  generous  are  only  more  justly  selfish  than  the domineering;  and  it  ended  when  circumstances  caused  each to  feel  that  the  ones  interest  was  not  the  chief  consideration in  the  others  thoughts.
